Malaika Orphanage & Xstatic Dance Initiative

Dear Potential Sponsor,

I trust that this email finds you all well.

Xstatic Dance has been sponsoring Hip Hop, Breakdance  and Freestyle lessons at the Malaika orphanage for the past two years. The children that we teach have participated in all Xstatic Studio competitions, as well as in inter studio competitions over the last two year. In 2015, Xstatic would like to give these talented children even more opportunity to shine by selecting the top ten dancers to participate in bigger, National Hip Hop and Freestyle Dance competitions.

In order to achieve this, we need your generous sponsorship

The following are the costs per child: R 2 650 for the YEAR
  • Registration with SADTA: R 250 per child
  • Private lessons with relevant teachers: (Breakdance, Hiphop and Freestyle). We recommend that each child receive ten private lessons throughout the year in the lead up to the competitions. This is over and above ongoing group classes sponsored by Xstatic Dance Studios. This helps us work on the child’s particular talents and/or problem areas in a one-on-one class. The cost of ten private lessons per child is R1900.
  • Entry into competitions: There are a number of competitions in the year that cost approximately R 250 to enter. We recommend 2 competitions over the year as this would be a wonderful experience for the children and would be extremely valuable to them and their budding dancing careers. R500
  • Outfits: We will try source outfits from retired dancers and dancers who no longer use theirs. However, any sponsorship for this area would be appreciated.
  • Transport and Food at Competitions : This will be arranged by Xstatic Dance studio.
The above costs amount to R 2 650 per child for the year and the funds would be managed and administered by Xstatic Dance throughout the year as required.

If you can only sponsor a portion of the amount required per child, this is much appreciated as more than 1 person/company can sponsor a child - any and all amounts will help bring joy to these children and to open them up to the wonderful transformative world of dance

Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries.

I look forward to your positive response.

Thanks

Lin

Easter Eggs + Four Legs

Easter Eggs + Four Legs - Hi everyone!! I am taking on TWO charity projects at the same time and I desperately need your help!!! From now until the end of March I will be collecting cat and dog food for all my shelter animal friends AND I will be collecting Easter eggs for all the children's homes and hospitals we support. Please spread some Easter love and help where you can. No donation is too small. From as little as R5 you can sponsor a meal for a homeless animal and for R2 you can donate an Easter egg for someone less fortunate. Please inbox me if you can help. You know you want to!!!!! (Ps - As usual we will also collect any donations if you live in the Johannesburg area!!)

500 Random Acts of Kindness

I have been involved in charity projects since 2002 and I have done many "Random Acts of Kindness" over the last couple of years.

These acts are so small that I don't really keep track of everything I do. But that is about to change.

I have decided to do at least 500 Random Acts of Kindness over the next couple of months and by sharing this journey with friends I hope to inspire others to do the same.

The original plan was to do 500 Random Acts of Kindness in one day, but because I am paying for this out of my own pocket, I have decided to spread it out over a few months. Each act will also be executed for R10 or less.

This is going to be an exciting challenge, so please spread the word and share my blog with others!!!

There is no doubt in my mind that I WILL make the world a better place, one Random Act of Kindness at a time.

Below are pictures of the first 38 Random Acts of Kindness:

A Lotto ticket might just change someone's life.
Fingers crossed!!!
A free cappuccino should brighten up your day.

Mornings are tough.

Free doggy treats at the park.
He is your best friend so he also deserves a treat.

Chocolate makes the world a better place.
No one should have a 25 Hour Day.

What better way to end a long week with a movie...
And free popcorn.

A little bit of energy for those gym sessions.
