Bags of Beauty

Because August is women’s month, our next project will focus on abused, neglected and homeless women all over Johannesburg.

Our goal is to put together as many bags as possible.

Each bag will include the following:

- Toothpaste
- Toothbrush
- Soap
- Roll-On
- Deodorant
- Lip Ice / Zambuk
- Vaseline
- Body Lotion
- Ear Buds
- Wet Wipes
- Feminine Hygiene Products

These are all the basic items every woman can use on a day-to-day basis but many cannot afford these luxuries.

How can you help?

1. By donating one or more of the items on our list. These items range from about R8 – R20 each so you can easily add it to your basket next time you go shopping – and you won’t have to break the bank. I will then collect and sort all these items to ensure each bag has all eleven items before it is handed out.

2. If you are feeling generous you can shop for and pack your own bag of goodies. This will cost you about R150 per bag. If you choose this option, please be sure to include all the items on the list. I will then collect this from you once you’re done
.
There are so many women raped each day, suffering abuse, living on the street or just in need of a little pampering.

I’ve seen it time and time again – if we all work together we CAN make a huge difference!!!

Please get in touch if you want to help.

Hearts in Common - A Pop-Up Shop for Homeless People

Two cars full of clothes donated to the Paballo Ya Batho Hearts in Common event. On Saturday 18 July 2015 Paballo hosted a pop-up shop for homeless people.

Shopping was for free, but with dignity and respect that every person deserves. They also had soup and tea on the day.

What a wonderful initiative!!

Thank you Felicity Purdon, Sandra Kruger, Helene Tilston, and Vimala Moodley for your wonderful donations!!

Please also follow Paballo Ya Batho on Facebook as they have soup kitchens every week, and donations are always welcome.

The Magic Company

Did you know the Magic Company has a box where you can drop any unwanted tickets? These tickets are then exchanged for prizes in aid of the Reach for a Dream Foundation. Another GREAT way to teach your children how to be kind, and share with those less fortunate!!

Cradle of Hope @ Lory Park Zoo

On Saturday 3 July 2015, all the moms and children from Cradle of Hope in Krugersdorp joined us for a fun day at the Lory Park Zoo in Midrand.

Upon arrival, each of the children received a foodie bag, and a beautiful cupcake.

We then took a couple of photos before we officially kicked off the day.

Once we were inside the zoo it was impossible to get everyone together for another group photo. Kids were running around, feeding rabbits, playing with owls, looking at the lions and tigers, eating ice cream and just having fun.

Here are some of the moments we were able to capture on camera:

A special thank you to the following people who made this all possible:

- Annell De Witt @ Suikerklontjie for the beautiful cup cakes
- Nicole Moore for helping with the collection and deliveries of the cup cakes and for sponsoring foodie bags for the children.
- Yolandi Brough for helping with all the arrangements and for sponsoring foodie bags and entrance for the children.
- Alex Vorster for helping with some of the arrangements and entrance for all the adults
- Antoinette Uys for sponsoring cold drinks for the day as well as lunch for all the adults.
