CANSA - Shavathon 2015

CANSA Shavathon is one of South Africa’s best-loved events in support of a very worthy cause, namely showing solidarity with those affected by cancer. Losing one’s hair is a common side-effect of cancer therapy – so shaving your head has become a symbolic gesture of support for cancer survivors.

Colouring your hair or paying a Bail Out Fee have become options for those who prefer not to shave, or who can’t shave on the day.  For those who like to be actively engaged and to make a difference, Shavathon embraces volunteers. Their support is invaluable.

Donate Blood - Save a Life!!

Donating a unit of this “precious gift of life” can save up to three lives of those patients in dire need of blood. By becoming a regular blood donor, this ensures that the safety of blood is maintained and makes it possible for the  South African National Blood Service (SANBS) to collect sufficient safe blood to meet the demand.

More importantly, it’s a gratification in knowing that you help save lives.

SPCA - Roodepoort

 

A few weeks ago we were able to donate a bunch of stuff to the Roodepoort SPCA.

 

They have a HUGE charity shop jam packed with stuff.

 

This shop plays a vital role in generating money to keep their doors open.

 

If you have stuff you want to donate, please get in touch.

 

 

 

SPCA - Edenvale

 

We were able to donate some clothes, shoes, toys, and other goodies to the Edenvale SPCA today.

 

Be sure to visit their charity shop in the area - you might just find a few hidden treasures.

 

 

 

Magazines and Nappies

Thank you Penny Soll for donating your old magazines!!

These were delivered to Cradle of Hope today.

If you have any old magazines around the house, please donate. These are great for school projects for the kids!!

 

 

Thank you so much Zelia Gomes and Fatima Da Silva for donating over 100 nappies.

The Cradle of Hope has three babies at the moment so these will be put to good use.

Death by Chocolate Easter Eggs

From now until the end of March I will be collecting Easter eggs to hand out to random strangers as part of my Random Acts of Kindness Project.

Just look at all these amazing donations so far!!!

We have 1 526 Easter eggs to hand out!!!

The deal was that if I collect 1000 eggs or more that I will dress up as the Easter Bunny when handing these out.

And I will stick to my promise.
