F.O.R.A (Friends of Rescued Animals) - 25 October 2014

On Saturday 25 October 2014 a few friends got together to spend some time with the animals at F.O.R.A.

I believe the biggest part of charity work is about how much of your time you are willing to give to others.

It's not always about donating money (although money helps, a lot!!)

Thank you so much to each and every one of you who made this day possible.

Malaika Orphanage Dance Competition

Counting down the days to our Malaika Orphanage dance competition next weekend.

A huge thank you to Penny Marek for her amazing donation.

Each of the +- 70 children will receive a hot dog, cold drink, packet of chips, and some sweets on the day.

We were also able to buy some cool prizes for the winners.

I promise to post more pics soon.

COMPASS - Delivery Day - 4 October 2014

So, the plan was to pack gift bags for Christmas, but when we found out there were children in desperate need of these basic items we knew we couldn't wait that long.

The first 50 gift bags were packed and ready to go so this morning me made our way to COMPASS in Edenvale to deliver these personally.

COMPASS (Community Provision & Social Services) is a safe haven for abused women, children and families.

For more information please visit their website. You will find their details under the "Causes We Support" section of this blog.

A huge thank you to each and every single one of you who made this delivery possible. We really could not have done this without your help!!!

Ikholwa Children's Home

A huge thank you to Rosanna Lupini for the wonderful donation yesterday.

The big box of fresh bread rolls was delivered to Ikholwa Children's Home in Weltevreden Park this afternoon.

They were so thankful and told me they cannot wait to have hamburgers tomorrow.

We even got to meet some of the lovely young ladies at the home.

Thanks also to Jackie Serrao en Alex Vorster who helped with the pick up and drop off.

Compass (Community Provision & Social Services)

A huge thank you to Alex Vorster and Carlene Terblanche for their wonderful donations this morning.

We received an emergency e-mail from Compass who needed funding for a little boy. The mother and three children finally broke free from an abusive husband / father and found protection at the police station.

Because of this amazing donation this little boy gets to stay with his mother and siblings and will not be taken to a state orphanage tomorrow.

The Compass team will assist the family to get back on their feet.

Here's to a new life for all of them.

Also a big thank you goes out to Janine Juries and the rest of the Compass team for the amazing work they do.
